Feeding My Addiction

So...today Liz (Butler) and I went to Woodland Hills Mall.  We were shopping for our husbands and Liz's soon to be 16 year old son, Devin.  We bought some winter clothes for the guys, then started just walking around the mall.  Went into Coldwater Creek, but didn't like anything in the store...THAT was a first!!  Then, we went into the Coach store...I had a 25% off coupon, which I forgot at home.  I had saved some cash for a really nice tote.  So, the saleslady said that they would look my name up on the computer and get my coupon that way...kudos to Coach!!  So, I bought my really neat tote and got 25% off...whoo hoo!!  Then, we decided to leave and get something to eat.  Unfortunately, we walked by the Baker Shoe Store and saw the most gorgeous black suede booties in the window; actually we saw two different pairs of black suede booties in the window!!  So, of course we had to go in and try on these gorgeous booties.  I didn't think I'd like them because of the platform part, but we decided to try them on anyways.  Please keep in mind that Liz does NOT wear high heels like me and these booties have 5.5 inch heels, which I love, but Liz doesn't love!!  I bought the pair with the suede bow on the back of the bootie...thus, feeding my addiction!!  I LOVE these booties!  Liz did, in fact, try on a pair but couldn't walk in them!!  Walking in 5.5 inch heels takes some practice.  These shoes are so comfortable I could have worn them all day shopping!!  Apparently, the platform under the toe/ball of the foot takes pressure off the rest of the foot and they are comfy.  I can't wait to wear them...

My Darling Mother-in-Law, Ethel

My mother-in-law, Ethel, is just the greatest!  We have had our trials and came through them loving each other more than ever.  Since my mom has passed away, sometimes I just need a mom...and, I have Ethel.  We talk about everything and anything.  She has the greatest stories to tell...I could sit and listen for hours.  In fact, I have done just that on several occasions.  I have learned so much from this wonderful woman and I am so blessed to have her in my life.  I can't wait to see her; I think we are gonna put up her Christmas tree and decorate her house for Christmas...it's her favorite time of the year, as well as mine.  She is 84 years young, loves her boys, writes stories, writes cookbooks, does geneology and we love to shop when I'm there (of course!!)  Today, she had a plumber in her house who not only left her a mess that took three hours to clean up, but he tried to over-charge her for an extra hour!  Now, you tell me...who treats an older lady like that?  She was mad and now, I'm not exactly thrilled with this guy.  I hope I get the opportunity to meet him and have a little chat with him on how to treat ladies!  Shame on him for being mean and trying to cheat her.

Welcome November

I have been sick all day. I hate to throw up. Especially with my two dogs vying for space by me in my bathroom! My day has been miserable and too humiliating to share with anyone other than Brother Sacker! Thank you, Brother Sacker for coming home during lunch and bringing me ginger ale, unsalted-top crackers and macaroni and cheese. Mac and cheese...my comfort food. I really miss my mom when I'm sick. I will miss the second day of revival at our church. I hope to be better tomorrow, so that I can go vote. We ALL need to vote tomorrow...it is very important to exercise our right to vote. Did you know that if you are convicted of a felony you lose your right to vote?! Yikes! I was in the first group of 18 year olds that got to vote! I am going back to bed now. No pictures...it isn't pretty! Oh...welcome November...whoopee!
