I Am Humbled...

I had a dream last night.  I dreamt that the nurse at the Breast Center came in and told me that my mammogram was perfect.  Ah...wishful thinking/dreaming on my part?!  So, Brother Sacker and I go to the St. Francis Breast Center this morning, right on time, I might add!!  I was nervous...I'll admit that now.  From what my doctor and I had both felt and what was going on with the surrounding skin (that is as detailed as I will get!!), I just had a real bad feeling that it was going to be cancer.  So, after taking enough pictures of my breast to actually wallpaper a small room...they took me to another room and told me to wait there.  So...I waited.  And, waited.  And, waited.  Usually, all that waiting means something bad, right?  Then, the nurse came to the door and said, "Mrs. Sacker?"  I go into the hallway with her, expecting bad news.  She said, "The doctor said your mammogram was awesome.  It is perfect."  Her exact words!  I just said thank you and went to get dressed.  I thought I would be jumping up and down with excitement!!  I'm not.  I'm humbled.  Who am I that God...yeah, that God who actually created me, would heal me 100%?  I'm still in shock...I was healed.  By God.  I'm humbled.  I'm amazed.  I'm so in awe that God loves me and cares about me so much that HE healed me.  So...I left there praising God.  Thank you to each and every one of you that sent prayers up to God for me.  I am so loved.  I am so blessed.  Now, I think I'll go have a good cry and praise Him and thank Him!!  To God be the glory.

Praise Him Always!!

Tomorrow is the day for my diagnostic tests at the Breast Center at St. Francis.  I would be lying if I said I wasn't just a tiny bit apprehensive...because I am!!  I know that there are a lot of people praying for me.  And, I can't tell you how much those prayers mean to me.  Several of my friends have called/texted me today to let me know that they love me and are praying for me...thanks, guys!!  At dinner on Sunday night, I told Brother Sacker that I would be leaving the building doing one of two things:  I would either be praising God for a good report or I would be praising God for a not so good report.  Whatever happens tomorrow...I will still be praising God...always!!  I know it is because of Him and all the prayers going up for me that I have a relatively peaceful feeling today.  Whenever I start feeling nervous or scared...I just pray and praise God!!  I will, of course, post my test results tomorrow.

A Lump and a Prayer

Last Friday I went to the doctor who discovered a lump in my left breast.  She has since scheduled me for a diagnostic mammogram, an ultrasound and some other tests.  I was really freaked out about this.  However, I have found a real peace about this.  I am praying.  Brother Sacker is praying.  My church family and friends are all praying.  So, when I go to St. Francis next week for the above mentioned tests...I fully expect that they will either find nothing at all or just a blockage.  So...like the song says...Say a Little Prayer for Me!!  And, to those of you already praying for me...heartfelt thanks...I woke up this morning with such a peace just overwhelming me.  And, that can only be God.  And, your prayers for me.

My Valentine

Brother Sacker is my Valentine.  He loves me just as I am.  He encourages me.  He sticks by me always.  He prays for me.  He supports me in great times and not so great times.  But, better than all those things...my husband loves God.

So...I FINALLY got out of my jammies today!! How far would you drive in the aftermath of a BLIZZARD for a tent?!! And, MANY thanks to Susan Smith for that coat!!

Today is the first day all week that I actually got dressed...yippee!!  Brother Sacker and I ventured out to Panera Bread on Lewis at 71st Street...I think he got tired of my attempts at cooking!!  I figured that since I wasn't going outside any time soon, that I should just change into clean jammies after my shower...worked for me!!  Brother Sacker has been taking the boys out to potty and play in the snow...many heartfelt thanks to Brother Sacker!!  What a man!  The boys are loving the snow.  Poor Valentino is so low to the ground, though, that Brother Sacker had to clear some ground for him to be able to go!!  Sundance is loving all the snow, of course; what Golden wouldn't love all this snow?!  I've posted a video that Brother Sacker took of me kicking snow at the boys...they love that game!!
I'm also posted some pictures of the snow around our house.  It is amazing how much snow will be in one area and then just a few inches in another area...Oklahoma, where the wind comes whistling down the plains...or the side streets!!  Brother Sacker added some arrows to one picture of our French door out to the side yard...can't even open that door yet due to the high snow...about four feet of it!
OK...the question about the tent?  Brother Jesse Stewart and his darling wife, Billy and their cutie pies Ashlynn and Hayden (who, by the way, is recoving from a weird ear infection thingy!!) are in their SUV as I type on their way from out in the frozen tundra of Sapulpa (and, I'm talking WAY out in the boonies here!!) to go pick up a tent in Catoosa!!  It's a brand new, still in the box tent worth $100 that this man is selling for $50.  Would you do that?!  Kudos to Billy for her patience and pioneering spirit!!  Personally...I wouldn't do it even if it was a freebie!!  So, it's official...Brother Stewart...you are crazy!!  But, we still love you!!
Susan Smith and I co-hosted a Thirty One party a few weeks ago and she brought over a black down jacket for Vicki Jones (our friend and Thirty One consultant extraordinaire) because Vicki complained about needing a warm jacket that fits!  She tried on the jacket and it didn't fit...so, I hung it up in our hall coat closet, to give back to Susan before she went home.  Well, of course, we forgot about the jacket!  I mean, come on, we were looking at purses and bags!  So, I told Vicki that I would take the jacket to Susan at church the next night.  In the meantime...I thought...cute jacket, I think I'll try it on!!  So, I tired it on and it fits perfectly!!  And, it is SO warm...down filled, so yeah...it's warm!  So, the next night at church, I told Susan that the coat fit me and I'd like to buy it from her.  She said no...you can have it...I bought it on clearance.  I gotta tell ya'...I love this jacket!  I have worn it every time I go out, except to church on Sunday!  So...Susan...thank you from the bottom of my nice warm heart...I love this jacket!  I'm wearing it in that video down there!  I forgot to add that the little pink shoe is a tape dispenser from Susan, also.  Every single woman who has seen that pink shoe in the picture has commented that the shoe is WAY cute...and I agree...I love pink and I love shoes...Another thank you to my friend Susan Smith who knows me well!!
OK...I'm going to get into another pair of jammies!!  'Night, y'all!!
This is from our office window (before we re-arranged the office on Weds. morning)

An Attempt at Soul Winning!!

Tonight, Brother Sacker and I attended a special "class" on Winning and Keeping Souls taught by none other than Brother Baglin!!  Wonderful class, by the way, for those of you who did not/could not attend!!  After prayer service, Brother Sacker and I went to Panera Bread.  It was actually just a few minutes past 9:00 pm...which is their closing time.  We were really on our way to Applebee's for a late salad, but I suggested calling Panera to see if they were still open and could make soup and salads for us to go.  They said yes, they could do that for us...aren't they wonderful over at Panera Bread?!  So, while we are at the cash register, I just happened to mention that we were just coming from family prayer at our church, which is why we were eating so late.  The cashier asked us what church do we go to and we told him Tulsa Lighthouse Church and he asked where the church is located.  We explained exactly where our church is.  So...Brother Sacker walked down to where they were making our salads and I thought to my self...hey, invite this guy to church...soul winning, you know!!  So, I told this guy that we have the best church in Tulsa and invited him to church.  To which he replied..."I have spent more minutes in a church than I ever wanted.  I am NOT a Christian.  I do NOT believe there is a God, that there was a man called Jesus who walked on the earth, I do NOT believe there is a Heaven and I do NOT believe there is a hell!"  Well...okay then, buddy!!  So, I asked him where he thought he would go when he dies.  To which he replied..."I believe in reincarnation!"  Well...that left me almost speechless!!  Almost, but not quite!!  So, I told him, well, if you ever change your mind, come see us!!  Of course, he replied that THAT would NEVER happen!!  Well...the thing is...God can change that man's mind in a heartbeat!!  So, I am just going to keep inviting him to church every time I'm in the Panera Bread at 71st and Lewis.  And, I'm just going to keep on telling anyone who will listen to me about the greatest church and the greatest God!  'Nuf said...good night!!

The Perils of a Black Slip and Black Skirt, Weird Thing at Subway and I'm Down 8.4 Pounds!!

Last week Brother Sacker called and said that ProMatic (our mechanics in Glenpool) finally had my car ready!!  Whoo Hoo...they had it for two weeks.  And, that he was on his way to pick me up to go get my car...uh oh...I'm not dressed, yet!  So, I very quickly pulled on a black skirt, slip, a shirt and shoes, etc. and ran out to get in the car.  We waited at ProMatic for about 20 minutes while they did some "last minute" stuff and then they said I could just go to the garage and get my car; which I did.  I sat down in my seat and noticed that I could see my slip...so I start pulling my black skirt down.  And, I pulled it down some more.  And, I pulled it down some more.  I almost had my skirt completely pulled off when I finally figured out that I had worn my black slip OVER my black skirt, instead of UNDER my black skirt!!  Thank goodness there were only men at ProMatic and of course they would never know the difference!!  Once I got home, I remedied the situation amidst Brother Sacker's (and, yes, mine, too!) laughter.  I told my friend Pat Castleman that it must be my age showing, but she said, nope...I was starting a new trend to save wear and tear on our skirts and dresses!!  Thanks, Pat!!
A few days ago, on my way home from shopping (yea...imagine that!!), I stopped at the Subway in the Tulsa Hills shopping area.  As I walked in, I noticed the Subway employee coming down the hall from the bathroom and said a silent prayer that said employee had washed his/her hands after using the bathroom.  For those of you that don't know it...I have a germ phobia.  The reason I refer to the employee as he/she...I honestly could NOT tell the gender of this young person!  Not by the clothes...jeans and t-shirt.  (another great reason girls should dress like girls not boys!!)  Not by the voice.   Absolutely NO clue as to gender!  Anyway...an older gentleman walks up and stands a few feet away from me while I'm ordering.  I ordered a black forest ham SALAD...very specifically said a SALAD.   So, the first words out of this kid's mouth was...do you want lettuce?!  I heard the gentleman next to me stifle a laugh, turned to look at him and he just laughed and shrugged his shoulders!  So, I said yes...I'd love for my salad to be made with lettuce and to also throw some spinach in there, also.  Next thing this kid asks me is if I want spinach!  Again, the gentleman stifles a laugh and shrugs his shoulders.  I just looked at this kid and said yes...I'd love spinach.  So, now my salad container has spinach and lettuce in it and the kid moves the "bowl" down the line for my veggies.  I stated again that I wanted black forest ham and the kid just looks at me like "yeah?"  So, I start telling the kid what veggies I wanted and throw in that I would like some ham on it, also!  By now, the older gentleman next to me cannot possibly stifle his laughter...he is laughing out loud!!  Because I still have NO HAM on my salad with HAM!!!  Finally, since this kid is obviously NOT getting the fact that I want ham on my salad...I asked him/her if they were EVER going to put ham on my salad.  The reply was that yes, but that isn't how he/she makes a salad; he/she only puts the ham on AFTER the dressing is put on!!  So, I said (very sweetly, of course!!) well...since this is MY ham salad, since I am the one paying for it and eating it...I want the ham on the salad before the dressing is put on it.  I'm told again that this is not how he/she makes their salad.  Of course, the older gentleman next to me is almost beside himself with laughter and I am now laughing, also!  So, I said (very sweetly, of course!!) okay...listen...this is NOT your salad; this is MY salad...again; I'm paying for it, I'm eating it (hopefully sometime SOON!) and I'd be more than happy to jump back there and make the salad the way I want it made or he/she can make the salad the way I, the paying customer, want it made!  I'm looking around for hidden cameras because by now I'm thinking that this kid cannot possibly be for real!!  So...we have a stand-off for about six seconds, then he/she very dramatically rolls his/her eyes, sighs heavily and goes back to the meat section, and cuts the ham and throws (yes, literally throws) the ham on my salad.  While the ham is being cut, he/she states (not asks) that I don't want no cheese, do I.  Pardon the horrible grammer...I never use double negatives in a sentence!!  I said no, I didn't want ANY cheese.  Then he/she states (again...doesn't ask!!) that I don't want no croutons, do I.  Again with the double negatives?  I'm wondering where this kid went to school!!  So, no I do not want ANY croutons!  And, to save him/her time, I say that I don't want ANY crackers, either!!  So, of course, he/she asks me if I don't want no crackers!  The double negatives are killing me!!  By this time...the older gentleman and I are both laughing and the kid behind the counter is staring at us like we are both crazy!!  But, I finally did get my salad with ham on it and yes...it was delicious!!  As I was walking away I heard the gentleman place his order for...a black forest ham salad...perhaps he is a glutton for punishment?!!
Brother Sacker and I both weighed in at Weight Watchers tonight...I have lost 8.4 pounds and he has lost 17 pounds!!  Whoo Hoo for the Sackers!!  Till next time...
